This privacy policy covers apps published under the developer name ZoneFiveZen ("I," "me," "my"). I take your privacy seriously — partly because it's the right thing to do, and partly because I genuinely do not want your data. I have enough of my own problems.

What data do my apps collect?

StepCats: StepCats reads your step count from Apple HealthKit only after you grant permission. Step count is used to calculate daily goals, award in-app coins, and power the virtual cat care loop. StepCats does not write data to HealthKit, does not store health data in iCloud, and does not transmit HealthKit data to me, my servers, analytics tools, advertisers, or other third parties.

StepCats stores app progress locally on your device, including cat names, cat collection progress, care history, Paw Coin balance, daily goals, streaks, trophies, reminder preferences, and subscription entitlement cache. StepCats also keeps a local-only diagnostics buffer of app events so I can test flows during development. That buffer stays on your device and is not sent anywhere.

MorningLock: Journal entries, voice recordings, transcriptions, app selection data, and gate history stay on your device. There is no cloud sync, no analytics on your journal content, and no account system. I could not read your journal even if I wanted to — which I don't, because boundaries are important.

General: My apps do not collect personally identifiable information, do not use third-party analytics SDKs, do not use tracking, and do not serve advertising. If any future app changes this policy, this page will be updated before release.

Third-party services

Apps distributed through the App Store are subject to Apple's own privacy practices and data collection. In-app purchases are processed by Apple. I do not receive your payment card information.

StepCats: StepCats uses Apple's StoreKit framework to load products, complete purchases, restore purchases, and verify subscription status. StepCats does not use RevenueCat or any third-party purchase SDK.

MorningLock: MorningLock uses RevenueCat to validate subscriptions and restore purchases, which means purchase history and subscription status are processed for app functionality. I do not receive your payment card information, and MorningLock does not send journal content or voice notes to RevenueCat.

Apple HealthKit

StepCats uses Apple HealthKit to read step count data. HealthKit access is optional, controlled by iOS, and can be changed at any time in the Health app or iOS Settings. HealthKit data is used only to provide the walking and reward features shown in StepCats. It is never used for advertising, marketing, profiling, or data mining.

Notifications

StepCats can schedule local care reminders if you turn reminders on and grant notification permission. These reminders are generated on your device. They do not require a server and do not transmit personal data.

Apple Screen Time API (FamilyControls)

MorningLock uses Apple's FamilyControls and ManagedSettings frameworks. These APIs are sandboxed by Apple — the app can apply and remove shields on apps you select, but it cannot see which specific apps you use, access your browsing history, or transmit any Screen Time data off your device.

Children's privacy

My apps are not directed at children under 13. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your choices

You can revoke HealthKit access in iOS Settings, turn off StepCats reminders in the app or iOS Settings, manage subscriptions through your Apple ID, and delete locally stored app data by deleting the app from your device.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, I'll update the "last updated" date above. For significant changes, I'll note them in the relevant app's update notes.
